The Vice President of Client Relations is a key member of the ZeOmega executive team and spearheads the entire organization's customer satisfaction and account management functions. This position serves as an ambassador for ZeOmega's payer and provider clients, working closely with client executives to ensure satisfaction, manage account renewals, and upsell solution sets. Further, this position serves as a liaison and clearinghouse between customers and ZeOmega's product and marketing teams, proactively forecasting and translating customer needs into new product development. I am responsible for managing the product features, roadmap and services as they are related to increasing the market opportunity for the Jiva product into the world of accountable care. Defining the mix of enhancements required and remaining with projects through the completion of the cycle which includes a great deal of interaction with existing and prospective clients to ensure viability. In late 2009, our strategic team charged with identifying viable Greenfield ventures selected me to spearhead one of those initiatives, Medical Home, which is dedicated to discovering and developing products and services for medical home and Value-based Health (Accountable Care) Organizations. Our Senior Director of Technology assumed client-side development after it was segregated from Operations, and he needed a manager. After attempts to recruit an outside candidate did not produce a fit, I threw my hat in the ring and was ultimately promoted. They saw my retail management experience as an asset in leading development projects (RUP, SDLC) and refining the specifications definition, testing, analysis and programming processes. I earned my next promotion by proactively developing a resource matrix that enabled me to resolve resource shortage and allocation issues throughout client services.

Initially I was a MUMPS developer on a legacy product. Instinctually, I plugged myself in wherever I was needed and served as an analyst for the new version of the product, assisting in polishing the testing process. Once that product launched, I realized that I could provide greater ongoing value if I learned VB, and became a programmer for the newly released product, CarePlanner WinUCS.While in this role, I earned my first promotion at the company (1st of 3 in 5 years.)

After completing my 1-year certificate at CLC, I was hired at Users to debug code and quickly advanced into supporting software for new clients. Eventually I was recruited (internally) to design and implemented new custom and model software packages for Datasafe clients.

Working with perishable products was like retail PLUS, because the shelf life of the products created a sense of urgency that impacted storage, care and maintenance, merchandising and promotion. My ability to tend to these details and effectively manage and train staff earned me a promotion from Assistant Manager to staffing, opening and running a new Frank’s location that generated $2M in annual sales.

Unlike many of my corporate colleagues, my journey into business leadership was not a straight line from college to corporation. I found that my broadcasting training was a uniquely valuable asset in sales and sales management. The leadership training offered by huge retail organizations was integral in successfully managing a youthful, inexperienced staff, which required detailed instructions and relentless follow up. Though the teams that I have managed since retail have been very highly trained, I find that I can assess and allocate the skills and talents of a team with great effectiveness and massage conflicts with ease. Since I had total P&L responsibility as a manager and then hired and trained management to do the same for 8 permanent and 19 seasonal stores as a District Supervisor, this opportunity was much like being a mini-CEO. I consider myself fortunate to have taken this path, as I could be that much more valuable to executive leadership in all of my future roles.
