Managed a biosafety program that grew from 80 investigators to over 180 over 15 years. Directed the biosafety team in serving as the administrative staff for the Institutional Biosafety Committee. This role involved working with PIs to get research protocols submitted and reviewed prior to the IBC review, conducting post-approval monitoring visits and conducting outreach on campus including hands-on training.- Responsible for conducting annual audits of BSL-3 and ABSL-3 labs on campus.- Served as a voting member of the UNL Institutional Biosafety Committee, providing advice and recommendations to the committee. - Administered the Bloodborne Pathogens program and ensure compliance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.- Served as Responsible Official for the University's Select Agent Program since Nov 2021. The Midwest Regional Center for Excellence in Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases (MRCE) offers a 1-2 year post-doctoral fellowship in Biosafety with the purpose being to train new biosafety professionals to meet the growing need in the rapidly expanding field of biosafety.Biosafety Fellows participate in the day to day operations of a biosafety officer, and receive specialized training in all aspects of biosafety program development and management in the context of the MRCE consortium.Training includes:- Animal models of disease - Working with pathogens at high containment (BSL3)- Select Agent Program management.- Participation in meetings of the Washington University in St. Louis Institutional Biological and Chemical Safety Committee (IBC).- Biological & chemical risk assesment- Conducting Laboratory safety audits- Administering Lab Safety Training- Biological and Chemical waste management

Analysis of Phylloquinone (Vitamin K1) In Photosystem I of Cyanobacterium - Extracted and isolated chloroplasts from cyanobacterium and developed HPLC method for detection of phylloquinone (Vitamin K1) in the Photosystem I complex.

- Worked with QA chemists/biologists to learn daily activities of quality assurance for production of high fructose corn syrup.- Developed an algorithm for automated readout of product flow rate on control room monitors.
