A highly self-motivated individual with over a decade of experience in the public and non-profit sectors, I specialize in emergency management, patient logistics, and public health research. Currently, as a MEDCOM Coordinator at the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC), I facilitate acceptance of inter-facility patient transfers for patients with traumatic injuries, manage real-time air traffic control and tracking for rotor-wing air medical units entering San Antonio/Bexar County airspace, and coordinate patient flow management for both trauma and behavioral health patients across the region. My team is often among the first to be alerted to mass casualty incidents (MCIs), playing a critical role in information gathering and asset deployment during those first crucial moments. My current role demands quick decision-making, strategic planning, and an unwavering commitment to community safety, all with a focus on continuous performance improvement. This is achieved through the active monitoring of various tools, including the local Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), radio monitoring and transmission, and real-time geolocation services. Before transitioning to emergency management, I concentrated on public health research, assisting with grant proposals and data collection on the social and environmental determinants of childhood obesity and tobacco use. As part of the "Bridging the Gap" research program, I analyzed correlations between income and community resources, contributing to policy changes at both state and national levels.I am passionate about leveraging my diverse experience to drive positive change and advance emergency management practices. Let's connect and explore opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Some of my interests include public health, geopolitics, economics, science, technology, and renewable energy.
