Technical and management lead in the develpment of the world class Linux Professional certification program. Work with, at a technical level, a team of international Subject Matter Experts (including Germany, Brazil, Netherlands, Japan and more).Developed a series of enterprise level of certifications as well as an 'essentials' level aimed towards assisting educational institutions with the introduction of Linux and Open Source to their students.Continue to provide oversight on key IT issues concerning the operations of the organization including candidate management (over 350,000 exams delivered and 120,000+ certified members), certification and examination development and delivery tools. Designed and oversaw the development of a remote testing service which is integrated completely with the organization's systems.Designed and oversaw development of a mirror system for regional partners which integrates with the international organization's systems allowing for localized management of member services.International travel to meet with key stakeholders to gather local needs so that they are included in the design plan for updates and new certifications.

This is really a continuation of my previous roles at LPI. As of March 2006, I have taken on the additional role of leading the exam and certification programme development efforts of LPI. This requires both a technical background to ensure that new and revised certifications accurately cover the knowledge domain for the exams and a managerial/leadership role.

Originally, Starnix Inc. was a founding sponsor of LPI and I eventually volunteered to take on some IT roles. It eventually grew to overseeing and participating in all IT functions in the organization.

Starnix Inc. is a Linux and Open Source Software managed service provider and training organization that helps clients in all aspects of IT use. This includes network administration and support as well as consulting, training, software development and integration with legacy systems.

Co-founder and board member but chiefly a volunteer for the Canadian-based Free and Open Source Software advocacy group.

Helped to organize events and speakers

Developer, QA, deployment in Solaris and Linux administration and software development. All clients and work were eventually rolled into the start-up Starnix Inc.

Fortran developer for legacy geophysical applications while developing new tools, and converting and improving legacy apps (and replacing source code for lost libraries) using C, Tcl/Tk and Perl.
