The Portland Junior Winterhawks is Oregon's largest youth hockey association offering elite & recreational opportunities for kids ages 4-18 in the Portland/Vancouver area.In the non-voting appointed position of Strategic Consultant & Advisor to the board, I help to bring the association's vision and mission to life. I am primarily focused on developing a strategic plan and supporting the execution of that plan to take the organization to the next level as a premier youth hockey association. As a proud alumni of the Portland Junior Winterhawks, I am honored to be a part of an organization that gives kids the opportunity to learn invaluable lessons through hockey that will serve them throughout their lives both on and off the ice.

Checking For Charity is a non-profit corporation that spawned from a group of men's league hockey players seeking to make a difference through the game they love. The format has participating teams declare a 501(c)3 charity which they will be representing. Each team is guaranteed a percentage of the proceeds from the tournament with the opportunity to earn more towards their charity depending on how they place in the competition. By donating 100% of all proceeds to charity, Checking For Charity combines a passion for the great game of hockey with the passion to give something back to the community. The organization went from locker room idea to 501(c)3 corporation in a matter of months and raised over $9,000 in the inaugural event. In 2012 the organization expanded to the west coast by putting on a second tournament in Portland, OR. To date, the organization has put on 14 tournaments hosting up to 52 teams each and has raised more than $417,000 in collective charitable distributions for local, national, and international nonprofit organizations. Checking For Charity is looking to replicate its early successes and become a vehicle for others to put on successful charity hockey events nationwide.

The Mission Planning program has three major systems that are continuously navigated through the acquisition life cycle. The legacy systems fielded today, the PC based Portable Flight Planning System, and the future PC-based planner known as the Joint Mission Planning System which will serve the warfighter into the next decade. The Airspace Mission Planning Division mission is to be the user's choice for integrated mission planning capability on any device -- anytime, anywhere. As a Contract Manager I managed cost, schedule, and performance requirements on a portfolio of multi-million dollar contracts to deliver mission planning software upgrades, maintenance releases, and innovative new capabilities to the Air Force, its joint partners, and foreign military allies.

CENTCOM Contracting Command supports operational war fighter requirements and host nation reconstruction efforts by awarding contingency contracts for supplies, services, and construction to commercial sources generally within Iraq and Afghanistan. This cultivates local and national economic development and fosters conditions for host nation sovereignty. RCC Central is the largest regional contracting center in Iraq and handles the majority of contracting dollars spent in Iraq.As the Deputy Branch Chief in the Operational Support Branch, Regional Contracting Center Central in Baghdad, Iraq I led a team of 8 that managed more than 800 base support projects/contracts valued at $484M critical to the quality of life and mission of 65,000 troops at over 20 bases throughout Iraq. Throughout my deployment I conducted enterprise contract strategy reviews, business analysis, process design and implementation, risk management, and contingency planning for a variety of internal and external customers with a variety of support project needs.

Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century (AFSO21) is a program that was established by Air Force senior leaders not only to institutionalize continuous process improvement, but also to describe a new way of thinking about the Air Force. AFSO 21 was modeled after Toyota's lean culture and methodologies and is based on lean, six sigma, theory of constraints, and business process reengineering principles.After being handpicked by the Joint Base Installation Commander as the Officer In Charge, I was responsible for implementing and sustaining organic lean capability, I facilitated lean events, mentored aspiring AFSO 21 facilitators, and helped shape strategic alignment and deployment of base process improvement projects.

The contracting office at McGuire AFB, NJ was responsible for the support contracts at the base. As a Contract Manager, I had responsibility over a $15M portfolio of supplies and services contracts for the base and surrounding installations. I led multifunctional teams through market research and business analysis to best meet the customer needs and subsequently led the complex support projects that were critical to executing the base mission.
