Full Stack developer for the Galter Health Sciences Library and Learning Center

The position resides in the Center for Data Science and Informatics (formerly NUBIC). Builds and supports web-based applications (Ruby on Rails) for clinical and translational research. Explores and develops novel informatics solutions and related back-end database architecture and infrastructure. Partners with researchers and research support staff to determine best approaches and provisions training and documentation.

Graded papers and exams and calculated the final course grade. Prepared and presented PowerPoint lectures. Lead class discussions concerning literature assignments. Maintained the course D2L website. Constructed a curriculum around the stages of the writing process.

IT Assistant-Collaborated on the design of iPad field recording application, iDig. Performed Maintenance and queries on the excavation’s database. Interpreted the needs of the field archaeologists and presented requirements to the IT Department.Field Supervisor-Supervised the work of 15 workers and volunteers during field excavation in the city center of Athens. Interpreted and summarized eight weeks of excavation into a report each season, which was then used by the director to create the final publication. Corresponded constantly with the rest of the excavation crew (60-75 team members) and the Greek Ministry of Culture so that the team could act as a single unit. Recorded field excavations using laptops, iPads, cameras, and total stations and processed these records in the office using Adobe CC software and FileMaker Pro and our own iPad app (iDig). Managed the daily operation of the museum focused on Mediterranean archaeology, including, staffing, scheduling, development, fund-raising, and community outreach. Designed and constructed the exhibits. Cataloged the artifacts. Redesigned and maintained the museum’s Access database. Originated and administered the museum intern program. Oversaw the museum’s budget. Collaborated with OSU’s Development office on fundraising.

Scanned and imported new records and maintained older records using industry databases at the Register of Deeds. Maintained the physical marriage, birth, and death records, including Dane County’s confidential vital records. Provided customer service by filling counter, mail, and internet orders for vital records.

Assisted developmentally disabled adults with daily home and transportation needs. Corresponded with parents and legal guardians concerning the care of our residents.

Served as the head teaching assistant, overseeing and reviewing the work of graders and other teaching assistants. Designed and graded exams and paper assignments. Led review sessions.

Worked the circulation and reserve desks. Shelved books and read and dusted shelves. Processed books for circulation. Maintained the copiers, printers, microfilm and microfiche readers. Implemented the digitization and scanning of the reserve collection.
