Responsible for strategic procurement globally and managing key supplier relationships.

SLG are a fast paced, highly creative global beauty business, focused on the creation, distribution and growth of high-fashion,trend–led beauty brands, either owned or licensed. In this role key objectives are as follows;• Procurement, Purchasing and Line Management – to closely manage all SLG procurement and purchasing processes and lead the procurement and supply chain team by setting a clear vision, providing clear direction, creating ownership and driving high performance.• Sourcing/Resourcing Strategy - to oversee, develop and drive forward the worldwide sourcing for SLG's brands ensuring that all activity undertaken achieves an effective balance of commercial viability, audit compliance, quality and service. Ensuring the global supplier base remains sustainable to meet growth plans, whilst ensuring the Suppliers conform to the standards required by both ourselves and our customers, along with a consistent quality and delivery performance at the right cost.• Supplier Development and Relationship Management – working with Quality, NPD and Technical in the development and maintenance of the supplier selection and development programme. To initiate and lead the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.• Imports – Management of the Imports team and operations to support the SLG business strategy, in compliance with HMRC regulations.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of this fast growing business and managing the supply chain team to deliver improved efficiency, cost reduction and maintain business growth through optimised availability of stock to meet demand. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of the supply chain including; procurement, FE vendor liaison, import, production, QC, project management, 3PL warehousing, export, E-Commerce and Global distribution.

Reporting to the Board of Directors and assuming overall responsibility for UK Operations,including; shipping/import, facilities management, IT/EDI, distribution, supply chain management,H&S, production, inventory control, liaison with Chinese Representative Office (CRO)/FE vendors,management of sales admin and warehouse teams.Achievements* Created sales order processing related KPI's in order to monitor successes and failures* Improved Team structure with very clear identification of responsibilities and targets.* Devised and implemented an internal Shipping Schedule for all import and export activity-accessed and edited in UK and FE by multiple parties via FTP site.* Implementation and management of weekly RACI & Production Meeting's to monitor KPI's.* Involved in cost reduction strategy, which led to an annual overhead reduction of 15%* 40% YoY Freight cost reduction achieved through; benchmarking exercise, air freightreduction and consolidation of LCL into FCL.

An internal promotion to assume greater responsibility, as the company and its divisions grewsignificantly when two mergers were completed in January 2008.Achievements* Post Merger operational inter-company integration- including site closure, relocation, costreduction, administrative and operational streamlining* Project managed and assisted in new IT installation; new server, terminal server, VPN's, NewBOS (IRIS Exchequer & Prospectsoft CRM), FTP Site for international file sharing.* Assisted in the set up of the company's Chinese Representative Office (CRO), which operatesin Hangzhou/Shenzhen as the foreign purchasing arm, employing ten staff.* Collated staff skills matrix to identify strengths, weaknesses and training needs.* Created individual product specifications, to be used throughout purchasing and productionprocess, ensuring all products are manufactured to specific customer requirements.* Built and developed own management team to a level that allowed myself to be involved inprojects/issues to improve the company performance and results.* Introduced, Implemented and maintained continuous improvement initiatives.
