User Interface Architect

Houston, Texas, Us

I was the lead UI Architect for HPE's GreenLake Cloud Platform, the platform that delivers all web UIs supporting HPE's cloud services. I directed efforts in both UI infrastructure and features / content. My job was to make UI development easy (LowOps/NoOps) and yet give teams the ability build and deploy their services with a minimum of effort. This included the development of an MFE (Multiple Front-End) platform and related deployment scripting and runtime platform cohesion across numerous teams dispersed across the enterprise.Prior to that, I was the System Architect for HPE GreenLake Central. I directed an international team that built the UI for HPE's as-a-service platform. I have also been a leading member of the open-source OpenStack Horizon team (the web management console for OpenStack), working both with the international OpenStack open-source community and on HPE's Helion product. Across two releases (1 year) I was the leading code contributor to Horizon, and led the project's adoption of client-side technology. I was featured in several podcasts and video interviews while part of this project, and I made three presentations at the 2016 OpenStack Summit in Barcelona.

Nov 2014 - Dec 2022

Senior Software Engineer

San Jose, California, Us

Developed the UI and database for Polycom’s video-conferencing solution management software, comprised of a web front-end and REST services. Introduced automated UI testing utilities to the organization. In the first months of my employment, I came up with the vision for, and prototyped and developed a virtual platform (Xen) for deploying multiple latest-generation Polycom software products on a single hardware appliance, extending over $20M in contracts that would otherwise have been lost.

Jan 2013 - Nov 2014

Principal Application Architect

Hook, Hampshire, Gb

I architected, designed, and implemented web/database solutions for USAF Space Command and other DoD customers. In rough terms, I was "the data guy." This means that I had to distill a universe of data into tangible concepts, and provide the means for others to readily comprehend these concepts. The largest project I worked on provided a real-time monitoring, reservation, and deconfliction interface for AFSPC terrestrial communications systems. This allowed DoD and non-DoD agencies to deconflict network assets to avoid mission downtime without revealing agency / customer operational information. Execution of this project also allowed assets to be evaluated for migration to the DoD "Gig" network. My work required extensive knowledge of computer security protocols and practices. Work required an IAT level III certification for this position (highest DoD IAT level), and I am familiar with DISA STIGs and various certification and accreditation processes. I held a Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance for this role.Prior to working with AFSPC, I worked with customers at USDA and DOE.Tools: C#, MS SQL Server, .NET/ASP.NET, Visio, jQuery UI, Spring/Spring.NET, Hibernate, Java, and Oracle.
