eviivo provide an online booking solution for the SME accommodation market. I manage a regionally remote based sales force, working to drive up market share across UK and Ireland. As well as working towards team targets, I also have personal sales targets and get involved in cold calling and demonstrations.

I managed a £1m South West RDA funded IT project with the aim to have one IT solution shared between all public/private funded tourism organisations within the South West of England. This role was as much about people as it has about the technology, working with the suppliers and destinations to identify requirements, negotiate contracts and see through the final delivery of the project. Part of the project involved engaging individual accommodation businesses of all sizes to get them involved in using the system to provide live availability. The project was successful within the time frame of getting 90% of the destinations working off the same platform.

My role with New Vision involved providing IT solutions for both the private and public sector tourism industry. This has involved sales presentations, hosting regular user group meetings, training, and I have also been involved in installations and technical support of the company’s range of products. The role has meant I have been responsible for costing and scheduling projects. I manage organisations varying in size from small, private companies to county wide organisations with a range of project values. I have gained invaluable experience in this role from a technical aspect, and interacting with clients on a daily basis juggling between the sales work and technical support. Since working for the company I have raised over £150k of revenue, with a combined annual revenue stream from my current 15 accounts of over £30k.

Part of a 20 week placement, with one day release at Exeter University, where the course content was built around business awareness. I worked with web designers and suppliers to deliver a tourism portal website. I was involved in interacting with partners to ensure validity of data on the website, and to push the roll-out of partner content management tools; including conducting training sessions. I was responsible for monitoring the success rate of the website and propose e-mail marketing strategies to increase awareness of the website.

I was responsible for developing a software module using Java; tested, problem solved and documented outcomes. I was involved in UK and North American team meetings, which helped me, increase my knowledge of the business side of running a newly developed software product.
