Lead Product Manager for the Northwestern Mutual consumer mobile application. During my time in this position, the team nearly quadrupled in size and I took on a primary role in outlining and defining processes to keep the development teams moving forward. I was able to work with a smart group of iOS and Android developers in a multi-capacity role encompassing Product Management, Product Owner, and Scrum Master activities. As the team grew from one to multiple mobile teams, I also took on responsibility for app management and releases for the entire mobile product team.The role has allowed me to not only represent our customers, but to also stay heavily involved in the overall execution and release of new features. Activities ranging from managing the Sprints, writing requirements, to grooming the backlog and reporting analytics has allowed me to follow my interest in Technical Product Management.

Managed a talented team of Audiologists, MBAs, and Engineers specializing in product management of hearing aids, accessories (e.g., TV streamers), mobile applications, and fitting software. We were the voice of the customer throughout the development process and helped to manage the interactions of our hardware, firmware, and software to create a seamless experience for our customers. Was involved in writing user stories, prioritizing features, working on software UI, and ultimately helping to produce the best products for our clinicians and end users.Prior to managing the group, I was the Product Manager for Starkey’s first Made for iPhone hearing aid. The team worked with Apple to create a direct iPhone to hearing aid streaming protocol, including a mobile application to directly control the hearing aids. While serving as the Product Manager, I was also the lead Audiologist during the clinical trials.

As a member of the clinical product research group, I was responsible for research protocols as well as subject and data management throughout Alpha and Beta product evaluations. This also included pilot testing and investigating improvements to hearing aid fitting methods. As part of the product management group, I also assisted in determining the direction of fitting software and product features.

Examined the impact of auditory training on the ability to understand speech in noise. Developed an auditory training program to help in the rehabilitation of elderly hearing impaired listeners once fit with hearing-aids. Working for Larry Humes in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences I headed up data collection, analysis and dissemination of final materials. The project culminated in five peer reviewed journal publications and five conference presentations and posters.
