Hey there! I am Matt, a business strategist, entrepreneur, and forever learner.My entrepreneurship and communications journey started when I turned 15 and became a music producer and DJ. I had my first contact with public speaking, branding, and marketing and learned early on that bringing value to people's lives was my biggest passion.However, coming from a poor and violent neighbourhood surrounded by slums in Rio de Janeiro, where armed robberies, extreme social inequality, and lack of freedom were part of my daily life, I struggled to imagine myself with a prosperous future.Despite the odds, I worked hard and received support from my father, who took on huge loans to help me pursue my dream of graduating from an American university.After nine months of learning English in New York, I received multiple scholarships and donations to study at Rockland Community College. There, I grew academically and professionally.Overcoming the cultural, linguistic, and economic barriers took work. Still, I had the opportunity to join student activities, professional and volunteer programs, student-worker positions, and serve as an ambassador to help hundreds of other students like me receive scholarship funds.Not only did I achieve my dream of graduating from an American university, but I also received the State University of New York Chancellor's Award for student excellence, the highest honour a student in the system of 64 universities and over 400.000 students can achieve.Returning to Brazil, I was eager to apply my knowledge and start my professional career. I then realized that many businesses struggled to adapt their communication channels to the digital world during the pandemic.So I started Mediafy, a marketing agency focused on branding and social media marketing, to help small and medium-sized businesses communicate better and achieve their true potential online.As an entrepreneur, I have helped dozens of businesses from over seven countries increase their online presence and sales. We grew to a team of six professionals working remotely worldwide and expanded our services.In my constant pursuit of knowledge, I decided to continue my education and acquire more degrees. In September 2021, I received a full scholarship to live in the Netherlands and study Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam, elected the best communication program in the world.I am now dedicated to empowering people to achieve transformation and success through knowledge and effective communication.
