Afghanistan

• Following my departure from the Army, I was successfully deployed on an MOD contract to Afghanistan, specifically tasked with asset management and logistics operations• Deployed to frontline FOBs and MOBs• Close liaison with units, collecting data of items requiring UID (Unique Identification Numbers) 2D barcoding• Data reconciliation, ensuring the data has not been requested previously • Order processing using the data software, downloading the data and printing out using laser printer and updating databases, tracking barcodes and equipment• Manufacture and application of UID 2D barcodes• Maintain laser printer• Responsible for vehicle upkeep, ensuring all inspection and services are booking and completed• Team supervision, in absence of Project Manager, ensuring everyone is observing procedures and welfare needs are met

• Following completion of 24 week Army training course, I successfully deployed to Northern Ireland for one year, involved in public order, anti terror and local police support operations• Successful deployment to Iraq as a Driver/ Gunner, operating in a live conflict environment across hostile urban and desert locations • Route planning, route review and assessment• Working closely with other regiments and ISAAF partners• Weapons maintenance and ammunition supply, storage and logistics• Responsible for the successful return of all regimental kit and equipment from Iraq back to UK following completion of tour• Deployed to Afghan on Op Herrick 9 as L/Cpl as part of the OMLT observing the mentoring liaison team, this role involved working alongside Afghan Army and Police with the goal of bringing security to the area of operations• Additional deployment to Afghan on Op Herrick 14, on this deployment I was the company G4 Storeman• Responsible for supporting all logistics of equipment and supplies for 120 men• Supported the logistics of everything required for daily operations including clothing, food, water and ammunition• Accounting for all weapon and ammunition supplies• Inventory management, stock control and stock reporting • Liaison with unit leaders/ commanders regarding unit needs and requirements• Planning delivery/ distribution to hostile remote environments, coordinating with logistics teams• Updating and reviewing H&S policies• Attending H&S and fire safety meetings as the sub-unit representative • I left the British Army in 2012 following an offer of voluntary redundancy
