Lead an 85 person organization developing and maintaining front-end e-commerce engineering for Gap Inc. across its 5 primary brands (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, Hill City) in North America. Gap Inc. is a Fortune 200 apparel retailer with ~$16B in annual revenue.

(Acquired by Paradigm in January 2020) I co-founded and served as CTO of Headnote. Headnote revolutionized how the legal community gets paid from solo attorneys to large law firms. It’s was as easy as PayPal or Venmo but made specifically for the legal industry and always compliant with IOLTA guidelines and the ABA’s Rules of Professional Conduct. Firms using Headnote were paid fast, collected more revenue, and had a higher client satisfaction rate than ever before.

For six and a half years I served as CTO & Co-Founder of Gigwalk, a mobile work marketplace designed to help businesses mobilize people so they can get field work done.We scaled from an initial bootstrapped company in 2010 through three rounds of VC funding to a 36 person team with major customers including Microsoft, Pepsi, Unilever and CROSSMARK.In my role as CTO I recruited and managed both design and engineering teams, as well as functioning as chief architect for the Gigwalk platform which included a highly complex web application and built using backend API server which scaled to serve a global enterprise userbase.Gigwalk's mobile app is currently in use by over 1.2 million workers across North AmericaWhile at Gigwalk I've written software using a number of different technologies, including:- Python- Flask- Socket.io- Postgres- MySQL- Heroku- Amazon Web Services (AWS) including RDS, EC2, Elastic beanstalk, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda- RESTful API Development- ReactJS- BackboneJS- RabbitMQ

Served as engineering manager for the Yahoo! HotJobs front-end engineering team. Grew team from 3 to 10 engineers and overhauled the HotJobs front-end UI framework using standards-based CSS, semantic markup and responsive design. Redesigned the HotJobs homepage using AJAX loaded page components and dynamic UI modules. Increased page load-time performance by 35% across HotJobs by reducing page weight and decreasing HTTP requests using image sprites and combined Javascript and CSS libraries. Served as liaison between the Sunnyvale-based front-end engineering team and India-based back-end development team
