Director Of Communications
CurrentReporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs to build and execute a comprehensive communications and media campaign strategy in support of SEMA's government and public affairs activities, with additional focus on executive communications, trade show media and marketing functions, with a goal of advancing SEMA’s public policy platform, expand membership engagement in advocacy, and develop relationships with automotive, political, mainstream and online media, and the influencer community of automotive enthusiasts.• Sets the communications strategy in collaboration with colleagues in the SEMA’s marketing, councils, membership, political action committees (PACs) and other internal teams.• Builds and fosters relationships with mainstream and new media to educate on SEMA’s policy positions, actively pitching and sharing stories as well as handling inbound inquiries.• Develops and oversees the execution of public relations and marketing campaigns that help shape the views of voters and opinion elites about our industry, its products and its leadership in the public policy arena.• Provides communications counsel to other departments, executive leadership, staff and members.
