The main goal at Front Range Systems is to help organizations achieve their business goals through software projects. We accomplish this through development team mentoring, improving teamwork and collaboration among the team members, and process improvement. Oh, and we write some rock-solid code, as well. Improving the codebase is essential to long-term maintainability.

Started a rewrite of an internal application using Bootstrap, AngularJS and Web API. Integrated with at third party Web API service layer for hardware interaction. Implemented a more granular and scalable architecture for the entire application using Entity Framework for the backend. Provided training and documentation on the new architecture to decrease ramp-up time for current and future developers.

Created a unit test mechanism for testing Web API services. Developed AngularJS pages as part of an internal administration tool used daily by approximately 50 employees. Wrote Web API services with which the AngularJS could communicate. Participated in architectural / design discussions. Proposed architectures for various aspects of the application.

Developed a Web API service layer that in turned talked to other services for communication with a mobile application. Created a data generation utility for use with the mobile app while it was in development prior to the completion of the 3rd party services. Assisted with the AngularJS development. Participated in and let design discussions.

Architected a service oriented architecture for use with future applications. Proposed new patterns within the current architecture. Developed an application for user management which included the ability to delegate roles to other users along with basic features. Created a user interface to create, copy and manage surveys. Wrote the service layer for both applications with Web API.

Worked with a team to improve an existing codebase in dire need of a rewrite. Architected a Service Host using a plugin architecture for various pieces of service-level processing. Implemented a communication mechanism for inter-plugin communication. Proposed architectural changes to increase maintainability. Implemented unit tests where possible.

Brought onboard to get a release back on track. Instrumental in architecting and developing a framework for other in-house applications to leverage. Ported one application over to the new framework. Participated in design and architectural meetings. Proposed increased Scrum usage to increase visibility and accountability to the business owners. Wrote a Web API data layer for the applications to utilize.

Developed custom administrative Sitefinity modules for adding videos, images and news stories. Wrote custom widgets to display custom data in the CMS. Repeat engagement to assist the existing software stabilize the in-house ecommerce platform. Re-architected data calls that greatly reduced the number of database calls. Met with the team members to help with tasks and technical questions. Implemented a build server for the different environments. Diagrammed and documented the current systems and provided an overview of each of the various servers and services. Instrumental in creating a WPF framework for the next version of the client flagship product.
