The Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) is a collective of young professionals (ages 21-45) who support Mile High United Way by making an annual gift of $500 or more. Volunteerism has become a passion. Initially, I became involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to meet business contacts (this wasn't the right approach, I should add). After a year, I volunteered to mentor two kids in th Youth of the Year program, a local contest in which the kids write essays and prepare speeches about what BGCMD means to them, and how it has positively impacted their lives.I was blown away by the skills and values the kids learned at the Clubs. It was then I realized the important role that staff members and volunteers play in helping children grow into well-rounded, successful adults. I have since continued to mentor one young man, who was designated "Youth of the Year" in 2009. He earned a $2,500 college scholarship as a result, not to mention the skills he learned that will help him excel in college.Additionally, I serve on the Property Management Committee at BGCMD. We help make sure the facilities are well-kept, look for ways to make each club work better for the children, and uncover opportunities to expand our reach through site selection for new club locations.I plan to continue with my mentorship efforts, as well as my Associate Board and Property Management activities at BGCMD for the foreseeable future. Eventually, I plan to join the "Big Board" so that I can have an even greater level of involvement.

As an ambassador for the DTC/ Greenwood Village Chamber of Commerce, I help new Chamber members get ramped up, and engaged in the Chamber. I get to meet lots of great people, and have made some lifelong connections through various fundraising efforts, events we've put on, and leads groups.

I recently started writing for ICOSA Magazine as a Contributing Writer. I've always enjoyed writing, and have contributed to several business publications in the past. ICOSA's mission is to "facilitate cooperation among individuals, businesses, communities, governmental bodies and educational organizations to help foster growth and change."

This summer, I got involved with the special needs program for Denver Parks and Rec. Essentially, I help folks with special needs enjoy water skiing on, and biking around, Sloan's Lake. A variety of water skis and bikes are available, so each participant can be matched with the correct piece of equipment based on his or her ability. A lot of fun! Special Olympics Mixed Volleyball is a blast. Four categories of competition, including team play and individual skills.

In 2006, I joined CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest commercial real estate firm. While at CBRE, I specialized in Global Corporate Services and Tenant Representation for local and multinational companies. I was part of the largest team at CBRE, which won NAIOP's Broker of the Year designation two years in a row. At CBRE, I had the opportunity to learn through best-in-class training, but more importantly, worked directly with some of the best commercial real estate brokers in Denver. We serviced major accounts for Fortune 100 companies, but also brought the Fortune 100 commercial real estate approach to small and mid-sized firms. The mentality at CBRE is to "Put the Client First-Always." This line of thinking has carried over into each of my endeavors today, and has resulted in lasting business relationships.

My commercial real estate career began at the Regus Group, the world's largest provider of furnished office suites. I served as Area Sales Manager, listing 11 Class A properties in Denver.I leased office space to Fortune 100 companies, startups, and local small and mid-sized firms. I sold directly to decision makers of these businesses, typically C-level executives. Many of my customers from the Regus Group have become long-term clients, some of which I have helped relocate multiple times into different office locations, based on their evolving business needs.Working for Regus allowed me to understand what leading business minds look at when evaluating an office leasing decision. One thing each business owner or executive had in common was the need to find the most efficient space possible based on current and anticipated business needs.
