As a "Wizard" (a member of our Innovation and Excellence team) I get to spend a portion of my time helping the organization with strategic concerns such as ongoing training, education, thought leadership, and community involvement. The rest of my time involves me working directly embedded with a client, helping with their new development and maintenance needs and helping support other EDJErs at that client and throughout the organization.

As an AI specialist I served as a traditional software engineer embedded in a client delivery team, but also helped specifically with AI and machine learning needs that client had and advised the organization at large on AI / ML trends and assisted where possible in new client acquisitions related to these areas.

Leading EDJE is a consultancy providing technical solutions to clients through short-term project teams. As a full-time employee of Leading EDJE I get to lend my expertise in analyzing and improving customer systems and meeting critical knowledge and skill gaps. The specific customers and projects I work on are confidential, but my impact is critical and I get to show up each day to make a huge difference for the community.

Served as the technical editor for two AI-related books tentatively titled "Microsoft Semantic Kernel in Action" and "The Essential Guide to Advancing Your Career in AI" via Manning Publications.Technical editor duties involve reviewing book content and related code for technical accuracy, readability, and fit for the target audience and generating final recommendations for the author and publisher.

Wrote "Refactoring with C#" and "Data Science in .NET with Polyglot Notebooks". Also serve as a technical advisory board member reviewing proposals around .NET content.

Designed, created, and recorded the "Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) Cert Prep: Implement Computer Vision Solutions" course as part of LinkedIn Learning's Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) exam prep materials.

I performed a handful of freelance contract work for Pluralsight while working for another organization. Specifically, I wrote the TypeScript skill assessment learners take to gauge their proficiency in that technology. Additionally, I authored an early piece on working remotely as the pandemic hit and created a video testimonial on Pluralsight's impact on my own life. This role was more out of a desire to invest in a company I cared about than to secure additional income, and I stopped pursuing contract opportunities with Pluralsight as I transitioned into teaching.

I run a team of developers focused on enabling other development departments within the organization to more efficiently add features and diagnose bugs. Our group is a middleware group controlling a number of Web API projects that handle incoming requests from a PHP web team and various mobile applications.I'm leading the team in developing younger talent, improving development processes, refactoring legacy code, expanding test code coverage, embracing DevOps, and generally becoming more awesome and more receptive to business needs every week as we transition to modern development practices and juggle a portfolio of projects to help the organization deliver new SaaS products and features to market on time and with good quality.

In this role I became a true full stack engineer building Angular, TypeScript, and WPF applications, REST and SignalR APIs, .NET and SQL Server back-ends, and even ASP .NET and bootstrap front-end work. By the end of my time at TeamDynamix I was leading technical projects, assigning and reviewing work, coordinating with product management, and mentoring junior developers.I helped the company grow from a small startup to multi-million dollar organization by expanding the project and portfolio management capabilities to compete with Microsoft Project and, later on, Jira in tight educational institution markets. I developed several full-featured desktop applications, then migrated them to Silverlight and again to Angular as Silverlight fell.

I was responsible for the .NET desktop client application written in WPF and C#. I worked to tight trade show deadlines and built pages iteratively on request, managing data from web services. I conducted performance and memory profiling so that users could flick scroll through 10,000s of audio albums on an in-wall Windows XP touch screen computer without its fan kicking in or the display stuttering. The UI and data virtualization logic I designed for this are still a proud achievement even a decade later.

Designed and developed a multi-threaded batch report generation and delivery system using Java.

Learned C# & .NET in Beta 2 and used it to develop an ASP .NET web application for the student body and faculty / staff of the university.
