About Matteo Pini
My current research interests are devoted towards the design of innovative internal flow components for the energy and propulsion systems of the future. I coordinate a group of talented people working on multi-disciplinary and multi-physics design methods to enable step changes in the performance of next generation turbomachinery. In parallel, I conduct fundamental research on non-ideal compressible flows to gain insight of the impact of using non-conventional working fluids in novel thermal energy harvesting systems. I use the findings of my research to enrich my lectures of Internal Flows, Turbomachinery, and Aero-Engines courses, which I deliver using a blend of classical and innovative teaching methods (concept-based learning, collaborative learning).
