Matteo is a "born global" Italian, with almost all his education and career taking place in an international environment within the top players in fast fashion retail, ecommerce and luxury. After graduating and getting a master in Management at Bocconi Business School in Milan, he started working for the Inditex group and more specifically for Zara and Bershka. During the experience with Bershka in Barcelona, he took part in successfully launching the online business for the brand in twelve countries, including some very challenging markets such as China and Russia, being also involved in omnichannel projects with physical stores. He then moved to London joining the management of ASOS.com, worldwide leading western ecommerce platform in terms of total online traffic. He spent four years as the Regional Manager for Italy and Spain, covering strategy and daily management of the markets with a 360 degrees approach and a strong focus on sales, marketing and performances, driving triple digit growth in both regions. After years abroad he moved back to Milan and has been in charge for two years of the direct to consumer business at La DoubleJ, a multi-tasking Milanese brand that edits the very best of Italy and Italian lifestyle. Founded in 2015, the company has expanded from a shoppable magazine selling just vintage clothing and jewelry, to a full lifestyle label offering new fashion made with archival prints, cool home design and rare vintage. He’s now a strategic advisor for Direct to Consumer in Fashion and Digital, while working on his own new entrepreneurial projects.
