Matteo Fogale is a designer based in Copenhagen. He works in the fields of furniture and product design and creative direction, led by a design approach that considers honest and premium materials, functionality and longevity of the product. Matteo was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) and moved to Italy in 2001. He studied Art School followed by a degree in Art and Design at IUAV University of Venice. After graduating he worked on a wide variety of projects with design studios like Patricia Urquiola, Nichetto and Partners, BarberOsgerby and MAP Project Office. After working many years within the industry in 2013 he established his own brand brose~fogale in designing, producing and distributing the Camerino Collection, launched on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. In September 2014 he launched a new collection of furniture and products in collaboration with the designer Laetitia de Allegri during the London Design Festival which won the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2015 ‘Best Denim’. Following this, they worked for several international clients including V&A Museum, Bloomberg, COS, M.I.H Jeans, Wallpaper, Airbnb, Salviati and Casone. Since starting his own practice in 2017, Matteo worked as freelance designer with Studioilse and Heatherwick studio as well as tutor and lecturer at Kingston University. He designed products for clients such as &Tradition, Carl Hansen & Son, Sutherland Furniture, NINE, Woak, TOG and was Head of Design for ReFramed brand.
