An award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker with a background in philosophy and historical research, over the past 25 years Matteo served as a reporter for a number of media outlets (RCS group, RAI, Current, Il Mondo, Corriere della Sera, Diario) developing at the same time long-term personal projects about organized crime, post-communist history, technology and alternative farming.Since 2001, he has co-directed the Journalism school at the Catholic University of Milan, a two-year master's program where he also teaches Investigative journalism and History of broadcasting.In 2010, his interest in digital storytelling and multimedia narratives led him to YAM112003, where he served for six years as creative director and head of content. In 2016, he joined H-FARM, where he contributed to the launch of "maize", a quarterly magazine that explores the complexities of innovation and the shifting dichotomy between technology and evolution, through the lens of humanities.After two decades in the media industry, in 2015 he founded the DIG Awards, a nonprofit organization that supports investigative journalism and the work of independent reporters, now at the 7th edition. Every year DIG gathers and rewards the most valuable video investigations produced across the world.Matteo has been a lecturer/speaker at the London City University Center for Investigative Journalism, Scuola Holden, Magnum/Contrasto School, International Journalism Festival Perugia, and Global Investigative Journalism Network.
