Matt Evans is a dedicated education professional and public servant with a strong background in policy leadership, community partnerships, and program evaluation. With over a decade of experience in various roles within the education sector, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and communities.As the Community Partnership Director at Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet, Matt actively partners with the Executive Director to support the organization's Strategic Plan, develops relationships with stakeholders, and advances program quality goals. Alongside this role, he serves as a Village Trustee for the Village of Elmsford, overseeing management and organization for over 5,000 residents, reviewing budgets, authoring laws, and authorizing projects and contracts.Prior to his current positions, Matt served as a Community School Director and Special Education Teaching Assistant, implementing initiatives that increased attendance rates by 12% and improved students' social-emotional learning ratings by 16%. His dedication to education policy is further evident through his nine-year service on the Elmsford Board of Education, where he served as President and Vice President. Additionally, he was a member of the Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association Board of Directors and served as the Area 10 Director of the New York State Caucus of Black School Board Members, contributing to regional education policy discussions and advocating for equity and inclusion.Matt's commitment to excellence extends to his memberships in Pi Alpha Alpha, the Westchester County Municipal Officials Association, the Westchester County Youth Board, and the Westchester County Democratic Committee.
