Co Founder, CtoReel Dec 2016 - Dec 2018Los Angeles, California, UsAs the CTO and a co founder of Reeelit I'm driven by the idea of applying my experience in FinTech to the shift in the market away from debt, and into a world where people's saving behaviors gain them benefits from their money and more joy from their purchases. At Reeelit my responsibilities are to apply my experience with technology, SDLC processes and building teams to help make sure that dream is realized. The platform makes use of Java/Node.js + AWS technologies to ensure stability, reliability and security. I find the idea of having a lasting positive effect on the world fulfilling, and Reeelit is dreaming big in that area. -
CtoAuthvia 2013 - Jan 2017Cambridge, Massachusetts, UsPay2Day is embracing the immediacy and intractability of SMS and applying it to payments to produce a conversational payment process, where it provides not just an added convenience, but unobtrusively turns the process into one that encourages better behaviors and more timely payments. The platform was designed to provide security (PCI Compliant), stability, flexibility and scale-ability by making strong use of Java/Node.js + AWS technologies. My responsibilities entailed hiring/creating, managing and motivating the technical team; defining the software and infrastructure architecture; defining and driving the development, testing and product processes. -
ConsultantIsomorphic Software May 2011 - May 2014San Francisco, Ca, UsIsomorphic gave me a tremendous amount of experience in the area of consulting which I felt I was missing. I was able to travel and go onsite to train users of SmartGWT and help them apply the technology more effectively in their very diverse applications of the product. This gave me a lot of experience working directly with a customer on site, understanding their problems and helping them get a solution within the context of their problem space. -
Vp Of EngineeringAmerican Tours International Nov 2008 - May 2011Los Angeles, Ca, UsI was brought into this organization to replace a vacant Application Architect role, and as I thrived in the position I was given additional responsibility over the management of the team. This was during a time of tech boom in the company and my team grew from 7 people up to about 22 to support the ongoing projects. I wore a bit to many hats in this role but we managed to accomplish a lot by launching a new hotel search engine that performed on par with the likes of Expedia. In the first year of its soft launch, it generated $1 million in revenue of bookings. -
Software Architect To RaytheonCsc Jan 2007 - May 2010Global, UsResponsibility for creating the development framework and bolstering the teams knowledge with both new tools and existing tools. We did this using a series of small projects which were well received by business and significantly reduced the development time. -
Sr Software EngineerGenex Apr 2006 - Jan 2007Culver City, Ca, UsGenex was an absolutely great work environment that taught me a lot about the little things you can do to improve the moral of teams and there fore productivity. In addition since they were a design shop I was able to soak up a lot about the basic concepts of proper user interface design and the massive impact it has on an applications success. The main project I was a part of was http://www.benjaminmore.com. There was a very tight deadline which we did hit for our delivery. The second project I was on was http://www.ziddio.com where I did the distributed application caching using JBoss Cache. This site was also under a very aggressive deadline which we hit as well. -
Sr Software Engineer/Team LeadCsc Oct 2004 - Jan 2006Global, UsI continued to be a part of the eCLS project team with business as usual, except for the opportunity to go to Hyderabad India and establish an offshore team. This was a very successful task. I went onshore to India, interviewed and hired the team members, trained the team, established a process and worked with them on a mini release to give them relevant exposure to the project. Once on shore the team continued to be very successful. -
Software EngineerFarmers Insurance Feb 1999 - Oct 2004Woodland Hills, Ca, Usstarted at farmers insurance as a front engineer working on browser compatibility between IE 4 and Netscape 4 (we were using advanced layering, hiding, showing, etc). There was a lot of success that I had and over the course of the 6 years I was at Farmers i worked on dozen different teams, and dozens of different applications. Farmers was blessed with some very good Architects that also helped give me a solid foundation of the skill sets I have today.
