I am leading a Platforms and Automation organization building foundational elements for system firmware (based on Linux) along with CI/CD pipelines for firmware and software projects. My team is bringing modern software CI/CD, release, and build security practices to all aspects of system firmware and related programs. As the lead of a platforms and automation organization, I am focused on improving product velocity, developer throughput, building secure and auditable CI/CD pipelines, and promoting modern development practices. My organization spans India, Ireland, Houston, Colorado, and remote engineers across the US.

Led multiple teams in the US and India that own the end-to-end design, coding, deployment, cloud security, and SRE functions for the next generation of HPE's server management. This strategic SaaS project represents the future of HPE's Server management platform - which launched to the public as HPE Compute Ops Management. We deploy to production every day.• Developed the initial architecture for Compute Ops Management based on python microservices using cloud native infra components (Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch, EKS, and RDS). Scaled the application capabilities 1000x from launch to present state.• Established team processes – defining and documenting “how we work” in a remote-first, COVID-limited environment and protecting the team from large enterprise distractions that prevent them from doing their best work.• Collaborated across HPE to move the project from Demo to releasable Product – including support, product management, offshore partner teams, and other HPE business units. • Designed an org structure that allowed us to scale the team while maintaining culture and delivery velocity.• Developed a security team and built security processes ranging from code scanning, incident response, DevSecOps, CAIQ and SOC2 assessments, managed pentesting and other cloud security aspects. HPE COM is the only HPE product current that is CAIQ STAR Level 1 certified.• Used SRE principles & processes to improve SLOs and application MTTR: including defining on-call roles, alerting and monitoring strategy, deployment & automation processes.* Initiated and drove key initiatives such as: using Feature Flags as a Service to decouple deploys and releases, migrating builds to Github Actions to reduce maintenance load, developed a cloud tagging and cost aware architecture process, and many others.

Led the transformation and reorganization of an 800-person software organization, fostering a developer and customer-centric culture focused on rapid feature delivery. Implemented agile practices, enhanced cross-team communication, and optimized processes and code pipelines to maximize developer productivity. Overhauled organizational structure and processes, resulting in a significant reduction in delivery time for HPE OneView from 6+ months to 8 weeks

I was a part of Cray which was acquired by HPE in 2019.Led the development of a Kubernetes microservices-based control plane bridge to the HPC world, enabling users to access exaflops of compute power. Played a key role in rebuilding team culture, resolving virtual networking challenges in Kubernetes, and delivering groundbreaking user container features to supercomputer customers. Responsibilities included setting technical direction, planning sprints and releases, mentoring team members, and communicating strategy with customers and partners. Delivered horizontally scalable management plane services and backend services that dynamically scaled with system size. Implemented services using tools such as Helm, RPM, and Ansible, integrating them seamlessly with etcd, postgres, and Kubernetes APIs.

I led intensive on-site and remote customer engagements, starting with goal development and backlog creation, followed by forming teams of mixed customer and Pivotal members. I worked with customer teams to architect, deploy, and operate PCF and Kubernetes, using automation to deploy platforms on AWS, vSphere, and GCP. Collaborating with internal security, firewall, and networking teams, we deployed production applications and managed day 2 operations, including backups, upgrades, monitoring, and customer onboarding. I applied an SRE mindset to prioritize tasks based on business needs and resources.Additionally, I helped clients develop effective platform teams and software development processes, focusing on backlog development, value stream understanding, daily coding practices, source control, and paths to production.

IBB was acquired by Accenture in late 2017.Co-founded and established a cloud and DevOps consulting practice, collaborating with clients to develop strategies and projects for optimizing cloud consumption through automation, onboarding, and cost transparency. Designed and implemented internal tools for cloud consumption analysis, enhancing decision-making processes. Developed innovative strategies for edge, hybrid, and private cloud deployments, driving efficiency and scalability.

Built, Deployed & Operated a large OpenStack deployment in multiple data centers across the US using devops and SRE methodologies such as infra-as-code and SLI/SLO. Provided leadership in order to build a high performing culture of remote and co-located workers. Fostered and developed a culture that embraced open source software and a self-service model of IT. Participated in the community, upstreamed everything where possible to minimize the maintenance of holding patches. Evaluated technologies and worked with consultants, vendors, and the community. Mentored junior employees and expediting the critical path. Help to run game days and chaos engineering to find flaws in our monitoring, runbooks, and processes. I got stuff done.

Developed customized Ubuntu Linux services and distributions for servers, tablets, and phones to ensure seamless operation on ARM and x86 devices. Implemented new code and features, performed patching, resolved bugs, optimized performance and size, automated builds, and enhanced security protocols. Successfully deployed Ubuntu across a diverse range of devices, demonstrating proficiency in system customization and optimization. Key projects included: Ubuntu phone power management system, Canonical's thin client solution, and others.
