As a Technical Principal I am responsible for leading the technical strategy across larger accounts at ThoughtWorks. It is my job to understand a client's business and ecosystem and to partner with client executives/C suite to drive technology strategies that integrate with their business strategy. I work across many streams and teams to keep work aligned with that strategy. I seek to contextualize the latest emerging thinking internally and from industry in order to expand our impact within the client organization. As Technical Lead my multifaceted role involved being a leader, communicator, and engineer while bringing a depth and breadth of tech and industry knowledge. It was my job to provide confidence and direction to an individual team on a technical engagement. I owned the tech stack, design and architecture of solutions, guiding it from start to finish. Outside of tech, my focus was on building trust and gaining influence outside the team to ensure a path to success for the team.

Lead Engineer for the Membership team at Co-op Digital - Helping to deliver the new 5+1 proposition to over 4 million members.I was lucky enough to work within the 'More Members' project team within digital membership. Their sole focus was to drive more profitable members into Coop's new membership scheme. Our remit was varied and involved solving problems such as:Registration is not always convenient - We discovered through our user research that some customers forgot to complete their registration process when they left their local coop, some also needed extra help in progressing through the flow. I was involved in the delivery of in store member registration terminals. These terminals allowed a customer to complete the entire registration process in store and ask for help where required.Improvements to the member on boarding process - Through analytics we had a basic idea that our registration flow could be tweaked and optimised. However we weren't sure where our pain points were. Using ELK and writing our own insights tool, we were able to measure customer interaction through our registration flow. We then used A/B testing to serve prototyped flows to a small subset of customers. Any marginal gains were then introduced to the registration flow.

Working for the 'Mobile' technology team at ao.com. Specialising in logistics solutions both for the business and customer:During my time at ao.com I helped to deliver a complete refresh of the organisation's mobile device estate across the UK and Europe. This involved implementing smart-devices that were key to helping hundreds of drivers complete their job accurately and on time. Using the Android platform to great effect, I was involved with creating a solution, that would be intuitive, fast, extensible and most importantly, tolerant of changing environmental factors. Our small team was involved from start to finish, not only in writing the software, but in researching the devices, their procurement, MDM solution choice and the eventual rollout to regions and countries. In addition, I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to help write ao.com's first public facing live delivery tracking site- 'Track Your Order'. Customers are now able to watch their orders progress from placement to delivery to the door. Utilising the huge amounts of information we collect every minute from our mobile devices out in the field, we were able to provide an unrivalled experience to the customer in terms of accuracy and detail. As it stands, 'Track Your Order' is live in three countries and serves thousands of customers per week.

I had the pleasure of starting my career in Software Development working for the much acclaimed Internet Service Provider - Zen Internet.During my time at Zen I was party to several high profile projects. Including an implementation of a PCI DSS standards project, a complete rewrite of the technical support ticketing system and the introduction of a brand new broadband products portfolio.
