INTERESTING FACT ALERT:Im the last ever Clay Modeller to work at Longbridge. When you think back to the days of Austin and BMC and British Leyland and MG Rover and all of the people who worked there over the years, i was the last Clay Modeller to ever work at Longbridge. That feels quite significant to me.I have a BA (Hons) degree in Automotive and Transport Design from Coventry University.Since university, I accepted a position at SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre Ltd. as a Clay Modeller in March 2015. Here, I was heavily involved with major MG and Roewe projects intended for production and Advanced Design, playing an important role for the UK Design Studio. As well as Clay Modelling, I also did CNC Programming using Autodesk Powermill software and CNC Machining with a Kolb Studioline M machine for both interior and exterior models and I was responsible for all of the scanning in the UK Studio. I have the ability and technical knowledge to use the Atos GOM scanner and also the Creaform Goscan 50 and the Handiscan 700 hand scanners which are used for the scanning of the interior and exterior models and I also scan for benchmarking for which the data captured can be used across the business, therefore playing a key role in the UK Design Studio and the wider global business at SAIC. I have worked on exterior clay models both in the UK Design Studio and the Shanghai Design Studio and interior clay models in the UK Design Studio, in preparation for major design reviews both here in the UK at Longbridge and Shanghai.Since SAIC, I have taken full responsibility for ALL of the Additive Manufacturing at Futura Design Ltd. in Coventry with a 3D Systems ProX 800 machine where I have gained even more technical knowledge and expertise, printing parts for major OEM clients such as JLR, Geely, Lotus, Bentley, McLaren, Tata and Arrival. My role includes the general management, operation and post-processing of Additive Manufacturing at Futura Design Ltd. such as time and cost management, requesting orders for supplies, liaising with 3D Systems for product support of the ProX 800 Rapid Prototyping machine and quoting jobs for clients to win work for Futura Design Ltd.My passion is for all things automotive and transport related. My dream is to own a classic car such as an early 1970's MGB GT or Triumph Stag and that is the goal that i want to achieve as soon as possible because life is too short and time is running out!!!.... Its only my career thats going to get me to that point financially.
