Lecture to the 3rd year Civil Engineering students to assist in their development of the following skills.- Establish criteria and apply them to identify and distinguish between Statically Determinate and Statically Indeterminate structural models.- Explain the significance of the above distinction from a number of viewpoints. - Carry out qualitative elastic analyses of 2-D statically determinate and indeterminate beam and frame structures.- Carry out quantitative elastic analyses of 2-D statically indeterminate structures using, displacement method, moment distribution and matrix stiffness method. - Carry out quantitative plastic analyses of beams and frames.

My Research is based around the analysis, design and behavior of modified timber grid shells. Grid shells are lightweight doubly curved structures creating open plan spaces making efficient use of sustainable materials. I will be researching form finding techniques to determine what final equilibrium shape a grid shell will take when formed towards a target shape. This research will also investigate how a grid shell behaves when various loading scenarios are applied. The findings of this research will be verified and validated using controlled experiments in the lab.

- Facilitated the upskilling of students in Surveying and AutoCAD as part of an integrated design project for Year 3 Civil Engineering students (30+)- Promoted the use of sketches of both the site and/or building before using any equipment or software- Encouraged visual surveying first so that the students made efficient use of their time and determine the most suitable position for their equipment in relation to the areas the need to survey

Assistant Engineer on the widening of the M25 motorway between junctions 27-30. Duties involved both office and onsite work. Set out pile caps and parapet walls.
