• Manage the Customer Solutions Research, Development, & Demonstration (RD&D) $4.4M annual budget and team of three project managers to provide grant funding to researchers developing Clean Heat, Clean Power Generation, and Clean Transportation technologies.• Drive the annual strategic funding plan process to guide researchers in project proposal development. Strategic planning involves identifying internal and external customer needs, analyzing legislative and regulatory policy drivers, producing a technology gap analysis, and developing strategic research initiatives.• Lead the General Rate Case (GRC) effort to support the overall RD&D and Business Development programs, including budget forecasting, testimony writing, data request responses, and witness preparation. Will serve as the Customer Solutions Witness for the TY2022 GRC proceeding before the Public Utilities Commission.• Present RD&D planning and project updates to the public and key government agencies, including the US Department of Energy, the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and South Coast Air Quality management District.

Sustain Southern California (Sustain SoCal) accelerates cleantech economic growth and sustainability initiatives through innovation, collaboration and education.As Southern California’s population, industry, workforce and tourism continues to grow and change, it is vitally important to proactively address the region’s sustainability, environmental and infrastructure needs and objectives.Formerly known as Cleantech OC and Sustain OC, Sustain SoCal has a long history of exploring and implementing pragmatic, real-world solutions to the challenges created by growth, change and inefficiency that face Southern California and beyond.

The Advisory Committee was established to provide advice and guidance to the California Energy Commission, and to serve as a forum to consult on matters relative to developing the Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan. The Advisory Committee is composed of 28 members representing a wide range of interests in clean transportation and clean energy issues.

Utilization Technology Development NFP (UTD) is a not-for-profit organization whose membership is composed of 20 natural gas distribution companies that direct a program of near-term applied research to develop, test and demonstrate safe, energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly, and cost-effective end-use technologies to benefit their 37+ million gas customers.UTD’s Mission is to identify, select, fund, and oversee research projects resulting in innovative customer solutions which maximize the environmental performance, affordability, efficiency and safety of equipment and processes that use natural gas and renewable energy resources.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

• Coordinated research at USC to perform lab scale studies of food waste anaerobic digestion and produce papers for publication in academic journals and at WEFTEC, the leading water quality conference in the U.S.• Produced white papers compiling current research in fundamental scientific aspects of anaerobic digestion including alkalinity and ammonia toxicity, reactor mixing and characterization, and dewatering optimization.• Developed and implemented a robust laboratory testing scheme to monitor digester biological health. Produced written protocols to perform DNA sequencing sample prep, physical and chemical analysis, microscopy, and reactor profiling.• Recruited and trained two interns responsible for collecting operational data and performing literature research.

• Led the commissioning and operation of a “First of Kind” waste-to-fuel facility processing 150 tons per day of food waste, 600,000 scfd of renewable natural gas, and 750 kW of electricity.• Managed repair and improvement projects routinely exceeding $100,000 in value. Ensured work was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.• Created a monthly Operations and Maintenance budget recording and reporting system. Prepared annual project budget proposals.• Supervised lab testing operations, including routine QC testing and lab instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
