The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association’s mission is to bring maritime heritage to life through education, preservation and philanthropy by serving as the philanthropic and educational enrichment partner for the San Francisco Maritime Historical Park, which is visited by over 4.2+ million people each year and is home to the largest national park library. The association also manages the World War II submarine, USS Pampanito, which is berthed at Pier 45 and is visited by an estimated 100,000 guests annually. Over 10,000+ youth participate in maritime history and environmental STEM programs operated by the association. • Developed the technological infrastructure to scale up philanthropic capacity to support a $2M+ organization with 50 employees. Projects include updating the donor CRM, website, email, and social media systems.• Designed and implemented the Association's virtual technology infrastructure-overhaul to support online events for the SF Maritime National Park, USS Pampanito submarine at Pier 45, and virtual fundraisers for the Association. The model is now used at other nonprofit organizations to help them execute their mission via the COVID-19 pandemic. • Cultivated relationships with a 40+ member Board of Trustees.• Implemented strategic communication strategies for the association, which included partnering with the SF Maritime Historical Park to increase awareness about San Francisco’s waterfront for the general public, philanthropic partners, and educational institutions (schools, nonprofit groups, etc.). • Served on the Aquatic Park Project committee, as a fundraiser and fiscal sponsor adviser, which is an estimated $150M+ capital project to rebuild the San Francisco waterfront at the national park.

Call of the Sea, with an annual budget of approximately $1.5-2M, has a mission to provide inclusive and equitable access to on-the-water environmental based educational programs that foster connection to watershed and ocean environments.• Created and integrated a new fundraising department including the installation of a new donor Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, website, and communication platforms, after Call of the Sea merged with another nonprofit. • Designed and implemented a successful strategic plan to finish construction of the $11M educational tall ship, known as the Brigantine Matthew Turner, after fundraising for the project stalled before my tenure. • Overcame the dependence on a few major donors by revitalizing fundraising strategies to reach new contributors which grew small gift donations annually from $50K to over $350K; increased constituents from 700 to over 2,500; tripled gala corporate sponsors; and bourgeoned major gift donors from 10 to 52.• Secured the organization’s largest contribution (nearly $1M) by leading a collaboration with the donor’s financial institution, accountants, and several board members. • Led cultivation efforts with several agency and foundation grant program officers to secure funding from supporters such as the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, California Coastal Conservancy, Conservation Fund, William H. Donner Foundation and many more.
