For 7 years Matthew ran creative direction and was an equity partner in a CPG startup that sold for $40 million in 2021. He built and continuously evolved the brand aesthetic across every touchpoint from the ground up, leading all design efforts and creative implementation from the website UI to product packaging and beyond. He managed an internal team of amazing creatives; worked, directed, and strategized with multiple external agencies; and championed multiple cross-departmental initiatives. Not to mention, Matt also led the internal strategy on a multi-million dollar brand revamp in partnership with award-winning marketing agency KNOWN.Now here’s my version: - A self taught artist/designer who chose to forgo a college education at a prestigious art school because of a lack of a college football team. (hindsight not my best decision)- I was able to learn more from youtube, reddit threads, and a year of traveling/living/freelancing in Australia, Cambodia, Thailand, and New Zealand between 2014-2015 than my 3 year college education. - Painted a mural in early 2016 for a ground floor startup called Green Roads (almost got fired due to me letting paint dry in the sink by accident)- From 2016-2023 (insert that 3rd person about me from above here)- My former boss coined me as a "swiss army knife." I consider myself a left and right brained creative strategist.
