Matt stepped away as President/CEO of Fehr & Peers in 2020 after serving in that role for 16 years. He spent a total of 28 years with the firm in a variety of roles, ranging from Project Manager, to Office Manager, to COO before becoming CEO in 2004. Matt’s focus was on leadership development, oversight of the firm’s strategic and operational initiatives, as well as personnel issues and financial performance. He also led or oversaw the firm’s major growth initiatives, including several new offices, two acquisitions, an internally funded research and development program, and a robust career development program. During his tenure, Fehr & Peers expanded nationally to include 15 offices across the US and roughly triple in size. In 2013, Matt began providing management consulting services via Left Lane Advisors - the firm’s subsidiary focused on leadership development and executive coaching. He has since advised many A/E industry CEOs and other senior executives on the full range of organizational issues including leadership development and succession, ownership transition, strategic planning, recruiting and retention, visioning and alignment, operational excellence, and growth initiatives. Matt now serves as an independent Strategic Advisor and Certified Executive Coach to both Left Lane Advisors’ clients as an Affiliate and to senior executives of several other for-profit and non-profit organizations through MJH Consult LLC. Matt is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation and is certified in administering the Hogan Assessment series of leadership development tools.
