Matthew Ackerman is the founding CEO of QDIR, Inc--an early stage startup based in the Chicago area whose mission is to enable innovations in industrial imaging beyond the visible spectrum. He received his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2020 from the University of Chicago, where he spent more than 5 years designing, making, and developing colloidal nanomaterials and their devices for applications in infrared sensing and imaging.
