About Matthew Dew
I am currently a graduate student pursuing my PhD in Physics at Cornell University. I am in my third year and work in Natasha Holmes' group where I study introductory physics labs. Specifically, I am interested in how students divide and share lab tasks with respect to their genders as well as how these tasks affect student outcomes. My current work investigates the effect of different interventions on equitable task division. I have been involved in researching equity in physics higher education for five years across four different institutions. My research is mostly quantitative in nature and has given me extensive experience in data analysis using Python and R. I am also interested in more general science and technology social causes, such as outreach and science policy.
