    • Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) lead for the Prox-1 satellite research group. Designed, machined, and tested a set of heavy-duty ground support equipment that can run Prox-1 through all final stages of testing prior to integration into the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle for a September 2017 launch. Equipment had to be designed to prevent human errors as much as possible and had to be able to withstand potential damage during shipping and use.• Power subsystem lead of the RECONSO satellite research group, part of the Air Force's University Nanosat Program, tasked with creating a cubesat for orbital debris detection. Managed a group of students in order to create power budgets/trade studies and select space-rated components which were then presented to a panel from the Air Force Research Laboratory at a Critical Design Review. Group received $110,000 in Phase B funding and a tentative 2018 launch date.• Developed low-level libraries for interfacing with I2C and SPI sensors and error logging/failure recovery on an ultra low-power wake-up circuit for an orbital reentry vehicle. The vehicle will collect first-hand data on the reentry environment for analysis, helping to better the understanding of reentry and breakup events. Constructed test article hardware in Class 100,000 cleanroom for NASA sponsored high-altitude test flight. Completed all research deliverables ahead of schedule.

    • Created test and debugging system for board involving multiple ARM processors. Allows injection and detection of faults. Emphasis on minimal impact on pre-existing code through use of low-priority RTOS threads. Maintained fault injection software through multiple phases of the primary software’s development.• Created a C# .Net program for interacting with the fault injection system. Capable of automatically detecting all nodes connected to the host PC and which node is on which port. The program also timestamps, IDs, and compiles all sent and received information from each node into one continually appended file for archival.• Created ethernet interface for board that tested entire encryption system. All system packets sent to computer for processing. Created complimentary C++ application that receives previous UDP packets and processes them into the appropriate format for decryption via a pre-existing tool. Created a second tool that used the same algorithm as the test board for generating test packets. These generated packets were fed back into the decryption tool for comparison against the received packets, confirming correctness of the encryption system.
  • Parker Aerospace

    • Provided code coverage for the Airbus A350 and Bombardier Learjet 85 and performed software verification cases and procedures (SVCP) for the Bombardier C-Series pursuant to DO-178B requirements.• Rewrote CAPL based firmware loader to allow manual uploading of flight code onto a Remote Data Concentrator using a CAN bus, increasing ease of maintenance and testing.• Added features, corrected issues, and improved code efficiency of a VB.NET based Fault Message Decoder for the Airbus A350’s Fuel Quantity/Management System and Inerting Gas Generation System.• Solved an issue involving ferromagnetic memory that only manifested at temperatures approaching -50°C. Traced issue to specific signals and modified memory interface timings to allow operation outside of thermal spec.• Created metrics on an internal Problem Report process and suggested changes that could be made to improve work efficiency. Data handed off to an internal team for implementation.
