Management and Deployment of Physical/Virtual Servers, Storage, Networking for datacenter environment and IT consulting for team members.The environment managed is tailored to a myriad of different hardware and software solutions to facilitate the broad range of needs for the Engineers and Designers of the EDG Enterprise team.Daily tasks included: • Management and monitoring of lab (5 racks),• Coordination of new purchases, • Configuration of new equipments, • Setting up test virtual environments for team members, configuring VMs/VAs, and high-level IT consultation for engineers. Projects engaged in while in this role:• Start-to-finish deployment of many enterprise solutions: HP OneView, IBM Flex System Manager, HP Insight Manager, Cisco UCS Manager and Director, VMWare vCenter, IIS, SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint, System Center 2012, Dell Fluid Cache hardware (VSA and RHEL version).• Migrated EDG VIBE team to dual 96TB Equallogic SANs on a 10GbE environment with automated backups to a NAS unit.• Virtualized legacy lab infrastructure from physical servers into a clustered/HA vSphere environment. (3 racks, 20 servers, 2 SANs, 200+ VMs). This included many P2V migrations and optimization of physical hardware and racks.
