I love writing code. Defining systems and procedures for a machine to follow, step by step, bringing my ideas to life. I've found that being able to write code is a kind of super power, especially in this digital era. Computers are defining how we live and have become an integral part of the world (when was the last time you didn’t have your phone on you?). Computers are more than just business tools and communication devices, they also serve as a platform for video games. Video games are so much fun to play! My favourite games such as Zelda or Portal are all about exploring and problem solving, and through code I want to create these experiences for others, so they can share the same challenges and joy that I have. Ive spent years honing my skills in programming to improve and practice so I can develop the systems integral to making computer games run. With that goal in mind I’m currently studying computer science so I can implement the core algorithms and systems for video games. I’ve worked and studied in the field of software engineering because at the end of the day video games are still software, with all the associated challenges of management, design and planning. In my own time I keep busy with personal projects and have developed several video games, two of which I’ve published (one on Steam and another on Google Play). Ive also worked on other projects in my spare time including a compiler for a custom programming language and a software ray tracer.
