My name is Matthew Bashaw and I have a substantial body education and work experience that will make me a valuable asset to any organization. Over the past two years I have returned to college and have earned my associates degree in math and science. While earning my degree I took classes and learned computer programming, interpersonal communication skills, as well as the more traditional math and science classes with focus on engineering applications. Before returning to college I was enlisted in the United States Navy. In the Navy I not only received a great deal of work experience but I also received extensive training on engineering practices, design, and operations. During my six year enlistment I was trained and qualified as a Nuclear electronics technician. It was during the training and subsequent time while serving on board The USS Albuquerque that I learned how major machinery was designed maintained and operated by working on a nuclear reactor. A large portion of my electronics training was AC theory, digital circuits, and instrumentation and control which was later reinforced by the classes I took in my recent return to college. In addition to my nuclear training while in the the navy I was also given training in the principles and maintenance of air condition and refrigeration systems. I also believe that volunteering and giving to the community is important to that end I volunteer with The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of American and in the past have volunteered in disaster relief efforts. Through volunteering I learned skills that help me work with and manage others.
