Technical lead in transitioning global automotive client Jaguar LandRover to a cloud-based data catalogue in conjunction with 3 major software integrations (Google Cloud Platform, Tableau and Data Quality and Lineage software)- Engineered and maintained pipelines to catalogue 950k data resources for JLR, including GCP physical data elements, business terms and Tableau assets- Saved company 180k per year based on an analysis of improved data discoverability for digital and non-digital roles.- Built 8 analysis pipelines for these assets, using SQL and Python to establish metadata standards.- Created 30 different processes such as relationships, inheritance and custom objects usingSPARQL (an RDF based, knowledge graph language) that were then adopted by the datacataloguing company themselves and exemplified as best practice- Responsible for creating data governance KPI’s as well as performing metadata gap analyses for theclient’s technology stack- Produced and maintained Tableau dashboards for 25 business data domains demonstratingphysical data mapping to logical taxonomies, the deficiency of metadata and presented to client’sCDO- Worked with senior leadership to create an environment with 73% greater capability to decideroadmap and demonstrate potential of data governance capabilities at client, then led on theimplementation of this roadmap.- Directed conversations with client’s ~80 person Data Engineering department to improve visibility onData Engineering projects for the wider business- Led enterprise-wide metadata completeness and standards drive; using a combination of technicaland business processes, increased completed metadata fields by 1.8 million
