As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) I am responsible for maintaining the Interconnect (PSTN) regulatory agreement dealing with both large operators such as Kingston Communications and Vodafone as well as the smaller CSPG SMEs. The TAM role is a very customer facing role covering responsibilities for service management of numbering and the management of provision and augmentation of circuits. I am also responsible for financial forecasting, selling consultancy and defending and growing interconnect and transit revenue streams. The TAM role further incorporates the newer 21CN IP voice products of UK and Global IP Exchange managing many aspects of customer pre-provision and lead to cash processes. I am heavily involved in organising and leading on the migration and management of customers from TDM to these newer 21CN platforms.

As a Sales Engineer I was involved with providing and presenting products from the BTWholesale product portfolio to existing and potential SME clients. Working with the sales teams and business consultants, I provided the technical and commercial knowledge for products and services to offer while making sure any proposition is fit for purpose and profitable for the business. The main products I was involved with were IP Exchange, Hosted Voice, Broadband and Wholesale Ethernet.

My role involved analysing problem areas when LLU fault reports came into the business and working with my customers to identify network and circuit issues. I was responsible for taking the necessary action to remedy the fault within minimal timescales, using an extensive range of tools and co-ordinating people to solve the problem. Customers such as Tiscali, Talk Talk, Opal and BTW.

My primary responsibility was supporting the new SDSL product and its surrounding technologies. I lead a team of six engineers to get to grips with this new product. There were many learning challenges which involved collaboration with manufacturers such as Alcatel, Marconi and Fujitsu and a number of Service Providers who ran their own SDSL trials. The role required heavy customer focus, team work and motivational skills to learn and fault this then new product.

As a Capacity Manager my job was to look after 2Mbit allocations for both BT and Interconnect customers on Marconi System X, Ericssons AXE10 and NGS switches. My responsibilities included managing the capacity and writing data for 30 switches around the country.
