Here I am learning a lot about the machining process of plastics and how they behave under certain machining processes. I am also learning various work holding methods that are not used as much in the metal industry, such as vacuum bedding. I am learning how to use new machines such as a 3 axis router. The biggest thing for me within this company is learning how to program CNC lathes with onecnc CAD/CAM and Alpha CAM with the router and milling machine.

Here I learnt how to program and operate NC lathes and millers to a high, competent standard. I learnt about different feeds and speeds more so than I use to on the CNC machines. I grasped how to program the CNC lathe under Fanunc language.

Here I did a lot of manual lathe work, however I broke my leg during my time here so they unfortunately couldn't keep me on.

This is where I learned how to set up and operate CNC machines to a high standard, I learned alot about different inserts used in the industry too. I grasped how chemi blacking was done and why it was done, along with honing my skills in grinding. I was taught how to program and operate NC lathes here. However they lost a contract and cutbacks had to be made.

This is where I learnt my trade, I was put onto the manual lathe to begin with to grasp the concept, once they were happy I went onto the manual milling machines. I did various jobs throughout time here such as repair work and making die sets for sintered parts. I learnt about different materials and how they machine. I did a lot of grinding here, surface and cylindrical, and learnt how important it was to the industry. Once my apprenticeship was over, the company let me go.
