Matthew “Matt” Blackley is a founding member, President and CEO of New Jersey-based, core administration platform provider, Maple Technologies (Maple Tech). Gifted with a natural understanding of technology and ways a modern IT infrastructure can enhance an organization’s ability to compete, Matt started his insurance career at Sureco National (Sureco), a managing general underwriter (MGU) focused on the design, development and administration of highly-specialized property and casualty (P&C) commercial insurance programs for domestic and international trading partners, where he was assistant operations officer. At Sureco, Matt gained insight into areas where modern technology might have an opportunity to streamline processes and improve the overall insurance customer experience.In 2001, Matt partnered with Nick Teetelli to launch Admiral America LLC, a custom software development firm responsible for the creation of the original Aspire Information System (Aspire), and Admiral Star LLC, a software provider responsible for the sales and implementation of Aspire throughout the Latin American and Caribbean markets. At Admiral America, Matt was the key architect responsible for designing, engineering and developing Aspire. Significant initial sales, positive industry feedback, and the potential of Aspire to provide benefit for those beyond the original scope of Admiral America and Admiral Star, soon led to the launch of Maple Technologies (Maple Tech). Today, Matt is responsible for developing and implementing the business plan by which Maple Tech operate daily. He continues to fill the role of chief product architect, driving ongoing design and development of Aspire while ensuring features and functionality meet or exceed industry baselines. Recently, he has also been called on to appear as an industry expert on behalf of Maple Tech, evangelizing about practical insurance applications for emerging technologies, and ways insurance IT architecture can be modernized and updated.
