As part of my responsibilities, I am the Rowan county coordinator rural county outreach specialist, I am educated in harm reduction ideals, safer smoking, safer sex, infectious disease, endocarditis, HIV, Hepatitis (A, B and C) prevention. I started my journey with Bradford Health Services, an in patient treatment center (28 day), as a volunteer. Leading recovery based lectures for substance use. Was then hired on as an FTE Program Services Aide (2011), continued to lead lectures and built rapport with adolescents. Then was promoted to Counselor Assistant (2012) working directly with the treatment team and counselors reporting back to the teams on a regular basis reporting behavioral issues, the patients recovery, and with their families. We focused Hazelden programs for our groups.During my tenure I became the Lead Counselor Assistant I trained all newly hired Counselor Assistants and Program Service Aids. It was at this time I moved more into an Administrative role where I gained certifications CPR, CPI, and CRSS.Due to my success as the Lead Counselor Assistant I was promoted to Family Program Coordinator. Where I contact every new admits family members and invite them to come to the center for family programs. This was a 3 day program where I was responsible for one of the lecture days though there were times I ran the entire lecture. I would also back support the Vivitrol Nursing staff.
