My name is Matt Boisvert and I am 23 years old. I grew up in Burlington, Vermont and have lived and worked here my whole life. I have almost 7 years of part time work in 6 kitchens in the Burlington area. In that time, I have worked 20 months of full-time employment at 3 different businesses. I started as a dishwasher at multiple companies and worked my way up. In the kitchen industry, I have held jobs including; dishwasher, delivery driver, prep cook, fry cook, grill cook, expediter, supervisor, and assistant manager. What I bring to any workplace is total dedication, a fantastic work ethic, consistent timeliness, and strong focus. I am very familiar and comfortable working long shifts and overtime. I have worked doubles and split shifts in the past and while I do not prefer those shifts, I can do it if asked. I am a very flexible employee who is willing and excited to learn anything. I am proud of my past work experience and believe that it speaks to my value as an employee. I was able to be promoted from dishwasher to assistant manager of a very successful kitchen (The Spot on the Dock) in only 9 months of employment. Currently I am looking for local, full-time employment in the restaurant industry with a decent starting wage. I am not opposed to starting at the bottom, but I am looking for a place of work where there is room to move up in pay and position. I believe strongly in meritocracies, and would like to be employed somewhere where my hard work would be noticed and could benefit me in the long-term.
