The Master's Program in Health Informatics is a collaborative graduate program with the Bouvé College of Health Sciences and Khoury College of Computer Sciences. I am teaching a section of the Introduction to Health Informatics class.

HMFP is the employed physician group at BIDMC. We employ more than 2.000 Harvard Medical School faculty members and have an exclusive affiliation agreement with BIDMC for patient care, research and teaching services. Reporting to the CIO, in this role for HMFP, along with technical analysts and manager of IT operations, I am responsible for the day to day IT operations of business applications for our corporate team and decentralized staff throughout BIDMC. Also responsible for overseeing telehealth operations, building and managing the cybersecurity and 3rd party risk programs, and heavily involved with the scoping, planning and execution of the upcoming physician professional billing migration.

Current = Membership Committee member and past-chair; Past = President, Communications Committee ChairThe New England chapter of the national Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) fulfills the national mission within the New England region. The New England chapter represents over 3,000 members and has active involvement from a number of leading health care organizations within health care delivery, payor, technology and academic institutions.

Work closely with both the Director and Vice Chair of Quality, Safety, Informatics and Innovation to facilitate the team's work and coordinate initiatives and projects. Oversee processes, tasks, and projects related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of clinical, business, and data management systems. Manage the administrative support efforts required to maintain and continuously improve the Talis clinical documentation system (EHR). Extensive interaction with BIDMS IS integration, interface, infrastructure and EHR teams. This includes managing new implementations of the system in new locations at BIDMC as well as at community sites.

As the Senior IT Project Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the planning, and implementation of all IT related projects that affect the corporate entity. Reporting directly to the CIO, I assist with the IT and business operational decision making process, collaborating with senior leadership and provide escalation assistance to colleagues where technical needs are not being met.I also have technical responsibilities over specific applications including Workday where I am the Security and Integrations lead. I mainly focus on business/operational systems, but interface with IT and operational leadership throughout the HMFP and BIDMC organizations. Current focus is on the project and implementation team of an internally developed telehealth video solution, integrated with BIDMC's home grown EHR and scheduling systems, built on Amazon Chime SDK.

Maryland Association of Health Care Executives (MAHCE), Maryland/District of Columbia. This local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a national non-profit organization, was in need of website development and maintenance strategy.-Worked directly with MAHCE board members and ACHE support to redesign and develop their organization website by identifying key user/member requirements. Ongoing content/maintenance updates to website, setup of new event registration pages and monitor overall website traffic/performance. Board members of MAHCE are senior executives in various commercial and provider healthcare organizations throughout Maryland and DC. -Successfully researched and recommended a vendor to supply the chapter with online event registration and credit card transaction capabilities. This new system saved the organization money over their previous solution, improved chapter communications and added event announcement capabilities. Organization of Nurse Leaders of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut (ONL)Woburn, MA-Performed a technology needs assessment for this local non-profit nurse executive leadership organization. This assessment lead to the selection of a consistent IT services organization for a new “holistic” support approach of the organization’s infrastructure and other IT related needs.-Worked with marketing/development staff and organization CEO to design, build and populate online member database, review form templates and website build-out.-Continue to work with operations team to refine their member database, website and forms related meeting the needs of their members.

The purpose of the Chapter Task Force is to enhance the relationship between HIMSS and its Chapters. The Chapter Task Force values diverse perspectives and encourages varying points of view, facilitated through a respectful exchange of ideas among all individuals involved in achieving the Task Force’s goals. Objectives are achieved through regular communication and information sharing; with collaboration regarding documents, proposals, future vision, and program objectives.

The role of the Manager, IT and Data Analysis has evolved from a single technical support position into a three-person team responsible for all technical and analytics requirements for the company. As the Manager of IT and Data Analysis, the following are achievements that have added to the success of the company:-Created a new service line to assist primary care providers in the State of Massachusetts select and implement Electronic Health Records (EHRs). In addition, became an authority on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program providing direction towards achieving Meaningful Use. This new service line added approximately $300k to the revenue stream and increased corporate capabilities.-Originally developed in Microsoft Access over a decade ago, lead the redesign of a proprietary labor productivity monitoring tool for healthcare organizations, and implemented it in a SaaS cloud-hosted model. Redesigning this product added a modern service offering to current and future clients, generated new recurring revenue and positioned the organization to compete with other software vendors. -Wrote training material and presented to large groups of hospital managers and senior leaders on how to interpret the AMS productivity reports as well as offer opportunities for improved internal use of this product. These training sessions provided “buy-in” to the reports and gave senior leaders additional information to make staffing decisions.-Working directly with project teams and clients to capture the necessary data from a wide variety of client-based internal systems, created many of the data analysis methodologies which support current client project goals.-Consulted with clients on productivity improvement initiatives, cost reduction and workflow redesign in a variety of department settings, including IT and telecommunication areas.

-Responsible for setting IT purchasing priorities, responsible for corporate IT Policies and Procedures, such as disaster recovery, network security, encryption technologies, communication with vendors and business partners.-Oversee the development and maintenance of the AMS website, including website account management and related online marketing opportunities.-Manage daily operations of the corporate infrastructure and telecommunication (PBX) environment, including the organization’s IT budget and software licensing.-Introduced and support multiple SaaS applications allowing consultants to securely transmit documents, communicate schedules and manage projects. Each of these tools has been accepted by all consultants and office staff as necessary improvements to corporate capabilities.
