It’s difficult to find a subject and career that fully interests you. I had this issue initially in college when I pursued a Biology degree without having any interest in Biology. However, I made a switch to pursue a BS in Data Science and a BA in Business as a double major quickly after realizing I wasn’t stuck where I was and that I was able to pursue something that really sparked my interest and was enjoyable. Data science and data analysis has been that something for me as it has allowed me to embrace my adaptability, creative problem solving, and communication skills. Data is the future. I am a firm believer that any business, no matter how big or small, can improve all aspects of themselves through data analysis. Be it financial analysis to see predictions for how well the company will do in the future, marketing analysis to figure out the most cost effective ways to reach a possible consumer, or even human resources to analyze possible candidates data to see who would be the best fit. Data analysis is everywhere and it is constantly changing as new technologies are explored. Nobody knows what the future holds, but using data we could better understand and prepare for it. My goal is to be able to contribute to that understanding.
