I have been a teacher for 4 years now, but working in the service industry for 17 years. I have worked since I was 13 primarily with students in different job titles. At 13 I started as a community service counselor for an award winning summer camp and over 13 years worked my way up into administration and leadership where I was mentoring community service counselors to be professionals and help planning, operating, and managing a highly structured 6-week summer camp. In college, I majored in child and family studies which helped me broaden my horizons as a psychologist and sociologist while being a 4-year football player and working in an after-school program for the YMCA. After graduating, I was a substitute teacher at an elementary and middle school for all grade levels and for all subjects. I found a position in convalescent care for a former student and camper and found a full-time job caring for him while his parents were at work. The job involved managing meal prep, physical therapy, doctors' appointments, while primarily trying to help a young child manage his mental health. After 5 years of working with him, I moved to Florida and began my career as a full-time pre-algebra teacher a month before COVID shut down the world. I used my technological skills to integrate and implement my daily lessons to students in the classroom and virtually, simultaneously. After a year and a half working, I switched to a different middle school and began teaching Algebra. where I had great success. I decided to pursue coaching high school football, so I moved to a high school where I taught Algebra to over 190 students while coaching the varsity offensive line and was promoted after 1 season to offensive coordinator. I have always been a critical thinker and solution oriented individual and hope to bring years of work experience and skills to your work environment.
