I work in the area of electro-optical system design, development, and construction. My experiences include analysis, modeling and simulation of atmospheric turbulence and optical systems, development of high performance real-time control systems, and experimental design/data reduction. I have worked on adaptive optics and tracking systems within both industry and academia. Specific areas of subject matter expertise include anisoplanatism, turbulence monitoring, scintillation, differential astrometry, and estimation of the field-dependent point spread function delivered by natural and laser guide star adaptive optics systems. I have extensive experience in software design and development. I've written a C++ wave optics simulation library called Arroyo that has been released under GPL. I have experience in cluster and multithreaded computing applications for large-scale simulation and reduction of Terabyte datasets. I have experience in the development of high speed real-time control systems utilizing Virtex 7 FPGAs, in which algorithms are coded in SystemC to provide a high degree of reprogrammability. I have performed driver development under both Windows 7 and Linux. I also have experience with the use of CMake and continuous integration servers to provide automated configure/build/install/unit test pipelines under Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, for programming languages including C/C++, HDL, Matlab, IDL, and LaTex.I have written successful proposals to fund research and development programs to a number of organizations, including DARPA, the Air Force, High Energy Laser Joint Technology Office, the National Science Foundation, and the W.M. Keck Foundation. I have published 50 refereed papers and conference proceedings, and have written 12 technical reports at the Optical Sciences Company.I am interested in opportunities that utilize this skill set to realize novel electro-optical systems in government, industry and academia.
