At Umass Chan, the department of medicine's division of innate immunity is focused on working on the development of novel biologics for the treatment of diseases of public health importance. Current projects primarily involve identifying new antibody targets for clinical development. Projects I am currently contributing towards include: Enterotoxigenic e. coli (ETEC), Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme Disease), and COVID.Job Related Skills and Achievements to Date:➣Generated positive hybridoma cell lines via immunological boosting and infection within the context of a mouse model, followed by B cell isolation, and subsequent fusions with immortal cell lines.➣Maintained and then subsequently transformed & transfected both transient and stable cell lines at various scales, ranging from 200uL to multiple 3 Liter cultures, to produce project related proteins➣Purified diverse groups of proteins using chromatographic methods such as Affinity, SEC & HPLC ➣Utilized RNA pellets from positive hybridoma cell lines to generate complementary DNA (cDNA) corresponding to the constant region of their antibody sequences, facilitating the characterization of the novel variable regions of the newly produced antibodies.➣Executed multiple IACUC protocols, such as gut colonization assays and systemic exposure studies to generate in vivo data for lead antibodies➣Generated growth curves using optical density (OD) to objectively measure, and approximate bacterial cell counts, enabling precise and repeatable dosing to assess antibody efficacy across a range of concentrations.➣Acted as the lab's primary purchaser and requisitioner, managing the procurement and maintenance of general lab supplies, project-specific materials, and animal orders to ensure timely execution of experimental protocols and research objectives➣Onboarded and trained multiple colleagues, including colleagues just starting their careers in science as well as more senior members transitioning to new roles

As a dedicated bar back, I meticulously ensure that bartenders have seamless support to deliver exceptional service. I maintain an efficiently stocked bar by consistently providing essential supplies, such as glasses, garnishes, and fully stocked bottles. I oversee the timely replacement of fresh kegs, ensuring uninterrupted beverage service. By swiftly anticipating and fulfilling the needs of the bar staff, I ensure continued smooth operation and exceptional customer experience during our busiest hours. Currently, I support both the Freeplay Arcade bar as well as the Rewind Retro Dance Lounge bar.

I served as a member of the Research and Development team at Glyscend Incorporated, where I contributed to a variety of projects over a 6-month period. My work encompassed diverse responsibilities, showcasing my ability to engage with and understand novel scientific products.Key Responsibilities:➣Conducted quantitative analysis to determine fluoride content in both degraded and non-degraded samples, contributing crucial insights to the stability of the companies primary biopolymers.➣Designed and replicated experimental protocols, facilitating accurate and systematic assessment of the biopolymers potential for drug-drug interactions.➣Successfully synthesized a range of the primary biopolymers, including fluorescent labled versions for in vivo studies. ➣Utilized common tools and techniques such as bucket dialysis, pH meters, viscometers, and electron microscopy to gather and interpret relivent data.➣Employed statistical data analysis techniques to derive meaningful conclusions from experimental results.My time at Glyscend Incorporated marked a significant period of hands-on experience in the realm of Research and Development. During my internship at Lumicell, I provided support across various departments, including Quality, Product Development, and Logistics. I was involved in diverse projects that allowed me to enhance my skills in procedural writing, process improvement, and software collaboration.Highlights of my internship include:➣Crafting and reviewing procedural documentation such as Drug Stability Procedures, Preventative Maintenance Procedures, Spreadsheet Validation Procedures, Lab Work Instructions, and GxP processes.➣Designing a comprehensive fabrication work instruction for human breast tissue phantoms, essential testing materials that replicate human tissue properties. This contributed to the effectiveness of the Lumicell imaging system.➣Collaborating closely with the software development team to implement impactful software changes, including improvements to the graphical user interface (GUI), ease of use, and overall usability.I'm proud of my contributions to Lumicell and the hands-on experience I gained during this internship. As the Maintenance Lead at the Blackstone Valley Boys & Girls Club, I took on a full-time role where I spearheaded a range of responsibilities over a 7 year period.
