-Site engineering lead responsible for integration of (3) factories into (1). Managing the construction of a new building and accompanying capital requirements. -Led the start-up of a new Modern Oral manufacturing department by managing the capital budget, purchasing & installing equipment, and working in a cross functional team to ensure a successful launch.

Managed several capital projects in the Innovations Engineering group. During this time I helped ensure the successful commercialization of new to world products, as well as provide support to legacy manufacturing departments.

Working in the operations department as a mechanical engineer I had the unique opportunity to manage both manufacturing and mechanical related projects. Relating to the manufacturing side I oversaw the layout, pricing, and installation of an industrial dishwasher, allowing for a 5% increase in annual production. Mechanically I had the chance to use SolidWorks to redesign a volumetric filler plate for improved durability, easier assembly and lower cost; as well as pioneer an improved in-line pouch press system to reduce rejected product. Finally with an interest in sustainability I had the chance to improve the cleaning process and reduce the water usage of a dryer apron belt by 33% with a new nozzle and piping configuration.

I began my internship at Pharmaworks in the summer after 9th grade. As an intern I have had the opportunity to work in several different departments including mechanical engineering, the machine shop, tooling, assembly, purchasing, and maintenance.As an apprentice in the machine shop I had the opportunity to fabricate parts on a CNC milling machine and lathe. Having the chance to turn CAD drawings into physical parts taught me how important it is to keep the machining process in mind when designing parts. Taking those same parts to the assembly line allowed me to learn simple hands on skills that traditional college courses lack such as how to remove stripped bolts, simple welding techniques, and plant safety. In the summer of 2014 I led a redesign of an inline inspection machine (IBIS) that was fabricated for Pack-Expo. The machine was modeled in SolidWorks and I had the chance to sit down for formal design reviews and see the design come to fruition. I also was able to design a fixture that was able to hold multiple stock pieces for machining in a CNC.
