My British Cycling Level 3 qualifications enable me to coach and prescribe training for racers and those aiming to get faster. This complements my other accreditations from Training Peaks and FutureFit.The races that have impacted me most are those where I exceeded my expectations. This experience informs my coaching philosophy, helping me understand the aspirations and challenges of riders at various levels. My involvement in cycling events and race organisation has shifted towards coaching, where I find satisfaction in aiding riders to develop their skills. My experience includes supporting riders at national championships and participating in six-day races in Belgium.In 2023, I started Saddle Up, focusing on providing coaching in skills and performance enhancement through crafted training programmes. This venture represents a significant milestone in my career, combining my extensive experience with a personalised approach to coaching.At 37 years of age, I decided to pursue a Sport and Exercise Science degree, which will further enhance my understanding and application of scientific principles in training. This adds another dimension to my coaching, integrating academic knowledge with practical experience. I will be completing this alongside my work.I'm also pursuing qualifications in Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning. Cycling performance is not just about time in the saddle but also involves a holistic approach to body strength and functionality.
